Job description: The Opportunity Supporting the Dundee factory, the role is central to the finance structure and will be highly visible both within DFS EMEA and across the broader Dover group. The role forms a key part of both the Senior DFS Finance team and the Dundee Operations Leadership team and provides a privileged position embedded within the business. Reporting to the DFS EMEA Finance Director (also based in Dundee), this is a key finance role within a dynamic, growing business requiring a high calibre individual. Job Description The main function of the role is to support the Dundee facility, Senior Leadership team and EMEA Finance through excellence in Business Partnering, Reporting, Financial Best Practice, Business Change and Communication. The role will require some travel within Europe. The main duties and responsibilities are as follows:
• Lead and develop the Finance team
• Business partner to the Operations Director and the Senior Leadership Team
• Ensuring the delivery of monthly results and supporting information in line with the corporate timetable
• Deliver best in class P&L and Balance Sheet reporting, analysis and commentary to the Business
• Complete responsibility for the development and implementation of financial policy, the enforcement of internal controls and compliance
• Liaising with the US Corporate team on Financial Accounting, Cash Management, Compliance, Tax
• Leading and supporting on Sox, Audits, Statutory Filings and Financial Projects
• Participation in the budget and business plan process
• Participation in the monthly forecasting process
• Assist the Finance Director on divisional/regional finance projects
• Ability to travel as required Required profile: The Candidate The Financial Controller position incorporates a blend of technical financial accounting with business partnering, team leadership and strong communication / influencing skills which require a high calibre individual who is strong interpersonally, self-motivated, flexible and possesses excellent business acumen. It is important that the Financial Controller brings energy, drive, passion and a highly inquisitive nature - the business is focussed on innovation and striving for improvement in every facet of its operations. In addition, it is likely the individual will come from a large business background where they will be experienced in the reporting, commercial and management requirements of a complex, global company. This role requires a professionally qualified accountant, ideally from a practice background, with strong operational finance and business partnering skills. The individual must be capable of driving corporate financial policy, delivering insightful management information coupled with developing robust working relationships with Senior Management, EMEA Finance and the wider Dover business. In particular, it is essential that the individual can provide sound financial guidance to aid decision making and possess sufficient gravitas to challenge current thinking.
• Graduate calibre with high academic achievement and relevant professional qualification
• Previous experience within practice and/or a manufacturing environment or related sector beneficial, either in current or in a previous role
• Prior experience of staff management and development
• Strong proactive communicator with the ability to engage and influence at all levels
• Well-developed commercial acumen with the ability to focus on top line growth and margin expansion
• Ability to work within tight deadlines and manage time effectively
• Strong team player with flexible attitude to work priorities
• Excellent knowledge and practice of P&L, balance sheet, and free cash flow statements
• Attention to detail and ability to work with large amounts of data in excel and other financial systems
• Strong analytical, quantitative, financial modelling, process building, and project management skills
