Financial controller for an extremely exciting research led not-for-profit organisation, focused on data science and artificial intelligence.
Client Details
This organisation is a world leading research organisation focused on artificial intelligence and data science. They are heavily linked to a number of world leading universities and provide research into varying sectors to solve some of the most challenging problems that data science and artificial intelligence can help to solve. They are growing extremely quickly and have exciting short and long term plans.
This role will head up the financial control and reporting side of the finance team and work closely with the senior leadership team. You will have the opportunity to lead a team committed to delivering excellent financial reporting and control within the organisation.
Description
Your main duties and responsibilities are:
- Lead on all financial and management reporting, including year-end accounts
- Oversee all systems and processes in place in the finance team and ensure these are fit for purpose, making improvements where possible.
- Lead on all financial compliance, regulation and control for the organisation

Profile
You will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with strong experience in financial accounting and regulation. Ideally this will be within the not-for-profit sector, education or a grant led organisation, but all backgrounds will be considered. In addition, you will have a keen interest in the designing, developing and implementing new processes and systems.
Knowledge of research or project finance would be highly beneficial.
