Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading Aviation Group in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire to recruit for a driven and dynamic Project Accountant. As the Project Accountant you will be responsible for project/engineering accounting supporting site finance teams and coordinating statutory audit. Your new role

Your key duties will include completing site-specific Project/Engineering accounting requirements and tasks monthly and quarterly. Ensuring compliance with accounting policies, local regulations and US GAAP. Preparing balance sheet commentaries, reconciliations quarterly along with supporting site finance teams in understanding their risk and opportunities as they relate to projects/engineering. You will coordinate statutory audit across all UK sites and consolidate audit requests and responses to auditors, along with being involved in various accounting projects supporting senior management.

What you'll need to succeed

To be considered for this progressive and permanent Project Accountant role you will have experience within a similar position, part-qualified/newly-qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA and strong MS Excel skills. Ideally you will have experience working within the manufacturing or costing/project accounting environment, 1st time movers from practise will be considered. You will need to have strong communication skills to build internal/external relationships and be able to work towards time-constraint deadlines. It would advantageous but not essential, if you have experience in US GAAP/IFRS accounting rules and have used Oracle financial systems with experience of system implementation/upgrade projects. (To note you will ideally have a notice period of no more than one month).
