Kind Consultancy is working with a leading property services business which is currently seeking a Data Protection Compliance Manager to join their Milton Keynes office - the role is in-office 2-3 days a week with the rest of the time working from home. A newly created role, the Data Protection Compliance Manager will work closely with the Group Data Protection Officer and Group Enterprise Risk Director in owning data privacy policies including processes and procedures for the business units to follow, providing a second line of defence that business units are adhering to the privacy policies. Key responsibilities of the Data Protection Compliance Manager will include: Assisting in drafting and maintaining group privacy policies, including processes and procedures Implementing controls and monitoring privacy activity in line with the group privacy policies, ensuring business units are maintaining compliance Delivering data protection training and drafting communications to help raise data protection awareness in the business units Ensuring compliance with data protection legislation and the management of data protection risks by assisting in the control and management of the data protection and risk management frameworks Overseeing compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation, the Data Protection Act 2018 and all other related data protection laws, regulations and best practices Providing data protection advice to the business and act as escalation and approval point of contact for business units Handling communications with authorities such as the ICO, data subjects, data controllers and other third parties as required Carrying out horizon scanning and actively participating in projects and changes in the organisation, applying the principle of privacy by design and default Our ideal candidate for the Data Protection Compliance Manager opportunity: Has an excellent working knowledge of data protection law, regulation and best practices and is qualified in current data protection law and regulation Is educated to degree level Has a track record of working with senior management, external and internal peers to assess and address data risks Has good knowledge of information security and its relation to data protection compliance Has an excellent understanding of emerging and current issues in the data protection environment Has practical, in-depth experience of the Data Protection Act 2018, General Data Protection Regulation and ePrivacy regulation and working knowledge of ISO 27001 and DMA best practices Has a good understanding of risk management and risk framework application and methodology Is customer-focussed with an adaptable approach to work Has a track record of working in complex change scenarios Is responsible, personable and passionate Has very well developed communication skills and is able to influence and challenge staff at all levels If you're interested in the Data Protection Compliance Manager opportunity and you have the necessary skills and experience, please apply with an up-to-date CV today.
