Head of Finance South Region Role Purpose Statement Business partnering the Operations Director South, the Head of Finance will provide strategic support, analysis and insight to help deliver and exceed expected service, efficiency and financial business targets. The Head of Finance will be instrumental in understanding and communicating trends and results (at both a tactical and strategic level) and plays an important role in developing value add analysis to support growth and performance improvements. Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities
• Provide the Operations Director with sound financial analysis and guidance in order to grow their business profitably
• Review and challenge of operational and financial performance on a weekly and monthly basis
• Drive a culture of financial management through KPI's
• Establish and lead weekly flash process with key stakeholders
• Attend regional and national Monthly Performance Reviews
• Lead strategic analysis and planning processes
• Manage the annual planning and rolling forecast process
• Identify financial risks and opportunities
• Manage and develop a team of qualified or part-qualified accountants
• Appraisal and authorisation of operational impact of new business requests
• Ensure full adherence to Sarbanes Oxley policies and procedures and Brakes Group reporting requirements
• Work closely with the Head of Finance - Change Programme to ensure that all costs and benefits relating to the change programme are appropriate, tracked and are in line with expectations
• Involvement in ad-hoc projects as requested Competencies/Leadership Themes
• Ability to liaise with associates of all levels, including senior Directors
• Ability to build cross functional relationships
• Confident communicating with and influencing demanding stakeholders in a positive and constructive manner
• Plans and prioritises to bring tasks to a timely completion.

• Has enthusiasm and tenacity to strive for continuous improvement
• Demonstrate ability to adapt quickly and deliver results when confronted with unforeseen work demands
• Must have results driven method of working and a strong desire to complete and succeed at all tasks as well as taking personal ownership for outputs with a can do attitude
• Ability to understand trends and results and propose corrective action / improvement
• High level of competency in financial analysis and modelling
• Maintain the highest possible professional and ethical standards at all times Knowledge, Skills, Experience Essential:
• CIMA qualified accountant with several years PQE experience
• Strong interpersonal, communication and leadership skills
• Ability to influence at all levels
• Highly analytical
• Logistics / Supply Chain experience
• Enthusiastic with a can do attitude
• Comfortable with travel across the UK and overseas on occasion Desirable:
• Project Management
• System development / implementation projects
