Job Details

Experienced part qualified or qualified Bookkeeper is required to work for an established family run business in North London . Reporting to the directors and supervising 2 staff duties will include.

  • Preparing the Prepayment schedule and spreading the expense over the relevant months
  • Carrying out the P&L account for shops/concessions
  • Working out/submitting VAT/making the VAT payment -
  • Reviewing and analysing Management Accounts
  • Maintaining, monitoring and creating new nominal ledgers in Sage 50 and dealing with external accountants on a monthly basis. -
  • Monthly reconciliation of GBP account in Natwest and Lloyds -
  • Processing shops' petty cash reconciliation -
  • Undertaking journals for dividends - Calculate expenses and process them -
  • Shopping around for FX rates when paying suppliers in a different currency to GBP/EUR -
  • Dealing with relationships managers in Natwest/Lloyds -
  • Dealing with Corporate Team when issues arise with bankline or c/c -
  • Withdrawing Paypal funds -
  • Withdrawing funds from Lloyds for petty cash purposes -
  • Liaise with Concessions Manageress in regards to petty cash and ensure money is sent to them to cover the postage expenses/dry cleaners and so on.

Accounts Payable

  • Dealing with suppliers chasing up invoices/Exchange of email& phone calls
  • Setting up payments on Bankline and get them authorized
  • Posting payments in Sage when made to the supplier
  • Posting invoices in Sage upon receipt by email/mail…
  • Liaising with Spanish ,Italian & Chinese suppliers , Setting up Italian payments and sending through the remittance advice
  • Ensure monthly payment of shops rental and PAYE /Pensions
  • Overseeing Accounts payable and credit control Functions

HR Functions
Processing new staff/leavers relevant paperwork ( P45's/P46's…)
Process and update holidays request forms
Monthly pension scheme reconciliation and Auto enrolment procedures
Ad hoc HR and office admin duties relating to insurance ,property leases and utilities business rates and waste management
Qualifications & Skills
Part qualified with at least 5 years hands on bookkeeping experience to trial balance and beyond
Excellent communication skills and ability to deal effectively with overseas suppliers
Confident and versatile with ability to supervise a small team .
Retail concessions or previous import distribution or fashion industry experience will be an advantage
