CMA Recruitment Group is working exclusively with a leading service provider, based in Portsmouth, Hampshire. An entry level Purchase Ledger Clerk is required in this newly created opportunity. Reporting to the Finance Manager, your main duties will include: The accurate recording of purchase invoices; Posting of appropriately authorised and/or receipted purchase invoices; Allocation of queried invoices to the appropriate department/manager; Following up queried invoices with other departments and suppliers; Processing of payment batches and the subsequent confirmation and filing of invoices; Reconciliation of supplier statements to the company accounting records and filing on a timely basis; Responding to general accounting queries by telephone and email as required; Monitoring bank balances, cash flow and daily bank reconciliations; Monitoring and reconciling petty cash balances. The successful Purchase Ledger Clerk will be loyal, enthusiastic and courteous in their support of the Finance Department and general company objectives. A common sense approach to work will be more important than formal qualifications although evidence of a good standard of literacy and numeracy will be required.
