Becoming an Assistant Accountant with Capita Life & Pensions: An opportunity has arisen to join the Life & Pensions division of this FTSE 250 entity as an Assistant Accountant. The role is a key position within the Financial Reporting team. This role is a permanent position and will offer great experience and exposure to the successful applicant. What you will do: The successful candidate will be responsible for the preparation of management accounts for Capita's clients, including the completion of all relevant statutory, regulatory and control requirements to agreed service levels. They must also be able to proactively manage the day to day relationship with our clients finance teams, as well as managing relationships with key internal teams and be able to contribute to projects, creating innovative & cost effective solutions to complex problems. Key

responsibilities:
- Preparation of the Monthly Management Accounts for all life assurance entities, within agreed service levels to our clients. Assistance in the production of regulatory returns on a quarterly basis. Maintenance and development of the current Financial Reporting models, and assistance in testing and implementation of new processes across the Finance department as required. Liaising with teams across Capita on monthly basis regarding financial reporting requirements. These relationships must be developed and managed closely to ensure the controls are maintained. Ad hoc assistance to Business Process Re-engineering and other development & change activities within the department as required. Maintenance of procedural manual for areas of responsibility. Assist Internal Audit with any queries/issues that arise, in a prompt and efficient manner. Ensure all information requirements from External Auditors are met, and all issues raised are dealt with in a timely manner. Ability to identify quality and process improvements both within own area of responsibility and other areas of influence Your experience will include: Qualified accountant or finalist with prior experience in a similar role preferred. Experience of people management/oversight required. Track record of delivering high quality output to tight reporting deadlines. Advanced Microsoft Excel skills Working knowledge of SAP would be advantageous. Proven background of good working relationships and being able to influence non-finance managers. Experience of project accounting or timesheet reporting is preferable.
