A&F Chambers are recruiting for a Head of Finance to join our client in Basildon . Reporting into the Managing Director, you will be tasked with the daily management of a small finance team with the purpose of constantly improving the capabilities of the business to achieve innovative, accurate and timely financial processes. This role has the potential to grow with opportunities to sit on the board in the future. Please note that there may be occasional travel (once every few months) to this company's parent company in Europe. Duties include but are not limited to: Prepare monthly management accounts, reports and board packs Complete monthly supplier pay run Prepare budgets and cash flows as required Oversee and supervise the finance and IT department Reviewing and analysing the results and forecasts of projects Agreeing inter-company balances at month-end Prepare statutory accounts for year-end audit Review of sales ledger to chase up bad debts Prepare corporation tax returns To initiate and monitor all new financial initiatives and strategies Liase with purchasing team on payment terms or suppliers Completion of staff appraisals Report to directors as required Any other ad-hoc duties as and when required Person Specification: Must be qualified accountant; ideally ACA, ACCA or CIMA Experience in leading a finance team Experience working for another engineering or manufacturing company IT Literate with experience using an ERP system, i.e. SAP or Microsoft Dynamics Stable working history Excellent understanding of WIP, long term contracts and projects Excellent communication skills Excellent understanding of U.K GAAP Details: Salary negotiable depending on experience Full time, permanent role Car allowance (up to £5000 p.a.) 25 days holiday increasing to 30 with service Free parking
