Job Title - Compliance Officer Contract - Permanent Salary - £32,000 - £40,000 Location - Birmingham Industry - Insurance (Commercial, Broker) A well respected Global client of ours has a position available for an Compliance Officer. Purpose Responsible for the internal training and competence plan for all employees including Director level. Ensure all staff are and remain competent in accordance with the FCA regulations in line with their individual roles. Deal with and resolve incoming complaints within the desired timescales. Provide access to the relevant markets for placement of policies (agencies, TOBAs, Etc). Ensure placement strategy is aligned with strategic goals and insurer deals in accordance with the principle TCF. Ensure procedures required for the general operation of the company are compliant. Act as an Independent body to ensure that compliance issues and concerns within the company are being properly evaluated, investigated and resolved. Responsible for the recording and notification to relevant parties of internal breaches. To be the approved person for the company. Control relationships with compliance consultants RWA and others. Sales and marketing - support to sales and marketing director (planning, monitoring, strategy - not implementation) M&A support to the MD. Other ad hoc project work, as specified by the MD. Liaise with the departmental managers from a compliance prospective only to ensure audits and file monitoring are being processed in a timely fashion. Ensure that all advice and operations remain FCA compliant. Stay abreast of regulatory and market changes. Be the key referral point for external legal and complaince assistance. Provide compliance support for all employees. Knowledge/Experience Detailed understanding of the company business goals. extensive knowledge of company processes. In-depth knowledge of Financial Services industry and regulatory framework. Problem solving and analytical skills to identify the root cause and resolve obstacles. ongoing regulatory awareness. Understand good outcomes and conduct risk for consumer and commercial customers, and escalate where activity deviates.
