As our Assistant Accountant you will support the Financial Accountant on key daily and monthly tasks. You will generate general Ledger adjustments and analytical reports for month end reporting and support preparation of Sustainability reporting. You will also be expected to get involved in projects and continuous improvement activities within the Finance Function. Working hours: Monday-Thursday: 08:00-16:30 Friday: 08:00-13:30 Responsibilities of our Assistant Accountant will include: - Processing petty cash, fuel card expenses, credit card expenses and general employee expenses - Participating in month end by processing General Ledger transactions and adjustments - Reconciliation of income statement and balance sheet accounts including inventory, AP and advances - Assisting with data collection and reporting for The Office for National Statistics returns - Loading Cash pool /loan information on ICE intercompany balancing tool - Supporting on EC sales and Intrastat reporting - Completing customs clearance documents - Managing fixed assets processing and reporting. Manage investment database - Supporting Internal and External audits - Processing improvement to maintain/improve quality and reduce costs/time to report - Supporting the SHEQ department in preparation and submission of Sustainability reporting - Ensuring a high standard of accounting practice is maintained that effectively meets department, Company and statutory requirements, Skills and experience required by our Assistant Accountant: - Ideally AAT qualified, or working towards this qualification - Working knowledge of an ERP system would be an advantage (especially if gained within a manufacturing environment) - Solid knowledge in Excel - Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken - Ability to work both independently and in a team and be prepared for hard/intense work at month ends - Think broad, open to new ideas, handle situations and problems with innovation and creativity - Good attention to detail when planning and carrying out tasks and ability to analyse results - Conscientious, positive attitude to quality and workmanship - Result oriented - Excellent organizational and time management skills - Good written and verbal communication skills - Aiming to work in a fast paced environment, having the ability to follow current work instructions as well as bringing up changes and proposing improvements So, if you think you have what it takes to become our Assistant Accountant then please click 'apply' today - don't miss out, we'd love to hear from you
