Would you like to work as part of a dynamic Internal Audit team that is focused on keeping the City of Edinburgh Council safe? If so, this is an exciting opportunity to join the City of Edinburgh Council Internal Audit team and help us support management in keeping the Council safe by delivering audits included in the Internal Audit plan and recommending appropriate actions to address control gaps identified. This role will enable you to develop a unique skills set that will be a strong basis for your future career and also provides the opportunity to learn about all aspects of the Council. The successful candidate will have a strong team focus; strong interpersonal, communication, and report writing skills; with relevant internal audit experience. A relevant professional qualification in accountancy or audit is preferred, but not essential. You will be responsible for supporting the Principal Audit Managers in end to end delivery of multiple complex audits included within the Internal Audit annual plan, and managing the delivery of team members whilst providing guidance, coaching and support. The role also involves supporting the Principal Audit Managers and Chief Internal Auditor with stakeholder management at senior levels across the Council. Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range. For roles in grade 5 or above, annual increments in our contribution zones are dependent on achieving agreed performance goals. You will be required to undertake a basic Disclosure Scotland check prior to starting the role.
