An accounts assistant is required for a busy family company based in Ashbourne with varying interests which include property, farming and vehicle export. Located in Ashbourne, just a 25-minute drive from Derby City Centre, you'll be joining a family run business spanning over 50 years. We are looking for an experienced Accounts Assistant, to support a team of long serving, knowledgeable & dedicated members of staff. Your duties will include:
• Updating sales and purchase ledger
• Monthly invoicing
• Responsibility for credit control
• Bank reconciliation to be kept up to date.
• Ensure all bank payments/receipts are regularly posted
• Payroll
• All aspects of accounts administration and all other tasks associated with the role. The ideal candidate would have:
• Good knowledge and experience of using Sage Line 50 and Sage Payroll
• Relevant experience; as it is essential that you can 'hit the ground running'. Ideally this would be for a minimum of 2 years.
• You should be highly organised and have a high level of attention to detail
• Strong IT skills for data entry are essential and a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel is required
• AAT qualified or a similar qualification
• An understanding of VAT policies and procedures would be advantageous
