Reed Accountancy Reading are currently working with a well-established and reputable manufacturer based in Hermitage. My client is currently recruiting for an experienced Credit Controller, who would be interested in developing skills on the transactional side as well and join their team for a 9 months Fixed Term Contract. Over 70% of this role would be focused on Credit Control and my client is happy to train in regards to other responsibilities. KEY DUTIES AND

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain the fixed asset register. Perform calculations of monthly depreciation charges. Complete month-end journals - fixed asset additions, disposals and depreciation charges.
• Maintain month-end prepayments summary and complete month-end prepayment journals.
• Accounts payable - coding and processing supplier invoices into the ERP and accounting systems. Import into accounting system.
• Accounts payable - coding and processing approved staff expense into the accounting system. Analysis of VAT element of expense claims, create and maintain supplier accounts
• Credit control - Obtaining credit references on prospective customers. Credit limits - setting customer credit limits, reviewing credit limits and customer payment behaviour. Placing overdue customers on stop supply and communicating such to sales team. Chasing overdue customer debts, writing to customers escalating chasing activity, providing customers with copy invoices; chasing payment of overdue invoices.
• Processing bank receipts and payments in the accounting system - allocating as required.
• Supporting the month-end process - eg travel expense accruals for outstanding claims.
• Monthly Intrastat and VAT returns.
• Support the annual external audits of the HSP Group - documentation gathering, supplier statement reconciliations and query resolution. Annual stocktake attendance.
• General administration - stationery orders, daily post, courier deliveries etc.
• Any other ad hoc duties that may come up from time to time and can reasonably be expected for the role and in line with the job holders competences.
