Senior Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk who has sound judgement and strong business acumen with the aptitude to thrive in a fast-moving, demanding, dynamic and ambiguous environment, managing a team of AP Assistants is required for a well-established Company based in Colchester, Essex.

SALARY:

As the Senior Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk you will lead a team of five and take full ownership for the delivery of all AP SLAs and KPIs. DUTIES Your duties and responsibilities as the Senior Accounts Payable / Purchase Ledger Clerk: UK focused role covering all transactional procure to pay activities Providing support to the Head of Procurement in establishing the wider procurement capabilities Leading a team of Accounts Payable (AP) Controllers and Accounts Payable Assistants Taking full ownership for the delivery of all AP SLAs and KPIs Management of all service providers for AP Act as an escalation point for queries into AP Ensure that all AP Payable accounts are complete and accurate Calculate VAT payments and submit VAT returns Strengthen the relationship between AP, internal stakeholders and suppliers Strengthen the governance framework and enhance the AP control environment Work closely with Business Units to improve adherence to policy and practice Maintain consistent high quality service levels whilst delivering significant business changes Create a step change in wider business engagement through consistent high quality communication and service delivery Drive the agenda for continuous improvement, delivering projects and process standardisation, considering the wider Finance Transformation Programme IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS ESSENTIAL Degree qualified or equivalent Knowledge of use of SUN GL is essential Demonstrable knowledge and understanding of end-to-end AP process in a complex organisation with a global scope Ability to build, motivate, develop members of the AP team Demonstrable ability to engage and manage different level stakeholders and multicultural audience/s through superior communication and presentation skills Proven ability to deal with and manage conflict Ability to facilitate day to day operational and strategic objectives Ability to manage customer expectations and demands, sell benefits to customers and build and maintain customer confidence Self-starter, able to drive the agenda to move the organisation forward Sound judgment and strong business acumen, always looking at the best possible outcome for the Company Collaborative with peers and colleagues to drive involvement and engagement Act as a Change agent, continually looking for ways to drive process improvement DESIRABLE Accounting qualification is highly desirable CIPS or equivalent procurement / supply chain diploma Project Management skills, with proven experience in a project leadership role, demonstrating the ability to drive gaps to resolution and achieve stated project success criteria Process improvement experience Insurance industry experience Experience of Oracle highly desirable HOW TO APPLY To be considered for this job vacancy, please submit your CV to our Recruitment Team who will review your details.
