Financial controller required to lead the accounting function of a large distribution and import firm in North London. This is a full time, permanent position for an experienced FC to manage a team of administration and accounts staff as well as the UK accounting function. Financial Controller Position Overview As Financial Controller, you will be responsible for business planning, monthly and yearly financial reporting, monitoring stock costs, budgeting and forecasting. Your role will be to challenge the ordinary, improve and develop the business. Your industry knowledge will be used to support operational management on results, annual budgets and forecasts whilst also stringently controlling year-end reporting and cash management. To take significant responsibility for all accounting activities. To provide clear direction and support to management on all matters relating to the financial and management accounting activities of the company. To build, manage, lead and motivate the accounts department, ensuring the efficient performance of accounting routines and controls. To prepare and present financial forecasts, budgets and cashflow forecasts To keep the financial plans up to date. To provide input into completion of statutory accounts and to liaise with the auditors both during finalisation of the accounts and as and when necessary during the financial year. Financial Controller Position Requirements This opportunity is suitable for an existing FC, CFO, or Finance Manager, or Financial Accountant, looking for the next step in into a Financial Controller post. Due to the nature of the business, you will need vast experience in stock accounting, stock management, and cost accounting. Sage experience is essential. Applicants must have a strong finance background, ideally a finance based qualification, preferably ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent, and ideally will have a minimum of five years' experience in a manufacturing, import and distribution business.
