The UCIA Commercial Finance function act as a valued advisor to the business providing commercial finance support to the regional business units, including:
• Supporting strategic financial planning and delivery of key business initiatives
• Providing financial insight into current and future business performance
• Providing commercial finance support to business decision making processes
• Supporting the delivery of annual financial plans
• Delivering timely and relevant management information Main Purpose of the Role The Finance Analyst will be responsible for providing support to the UCIA Senior Finance Business Partner and the Head of Finance Integration in relation to the integration of the recently acquired Equatex business. The role is a 12 month fixed term contract. Key Responsibilities
• Working closely with the UCIA Senior Finance Business Partner as well as other key stakeholders in maintaining accurate financial models relating to the integration programme.
• Liaising with various stakeholders to maintain a detailed personnel file in order to accurately track people movement across BAU and integration.
• Develop monthly reporting tools to analyse business performance, including the analysis of financial results versus business case.
• Take a hands on approach working with the financial accounting team to ensure correct month end results particularly around cost control, accruals and management adjustments.
• Detailed review of integration related costs at month end and maintaining an up to date forecast of key cost areas
• Support the annual budget and quarterly forecast cycle
• Develop and manage effective relationships with regional stakeholders within the Business and within Finance
• Ad hoc tasks as required Person Specification The successful candidate will be a part qualified accountant ideally with experience in providing financial support to business units. In addition to strong analytical skills and technical expertise, the successful candidate will have good interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and interact at different levels of management. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, have a proactive approach and be commercially inquisitive. Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies
• ACA/ACCA/CIMA part qualified
• High degree of numeracy and strong analytical skills
• Strong excel skills
• Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence and interact at different levels of management
• Commercially inquisitive
• Self-motivated
• Ability to prioritise and work well under deadlines
• Able to work in a team environment Desirable Skills, Experience and Competencies
• Experience in providing financial analysis support to business units.
• Knowledge of Epicor, Hyperion Financial Management and Hyperion Planning financial systems.
