Location:
Central London Job status: Permanent Report to: Finance Manager Summary: This role will predominately be covering the financial and management reporting and analysis for the Entrepreneur Trading business in London, the consolidation of the joint venture, and some ad hoc refining business analysis for group reporting purposes. Some of the reporting and analysis will require good understanding of Chinese business culture and Chinese accounting standard. What You'll be Doing Each Day:
• Work closely with the settlements team to review and identify any posting issues during the month.
• Work closely with product control team to post month-end accruals, investigate and produce the MI/MA reconciliation.
• Work closely with the refinery site controllers and related party companies to reconcile the intercompany and related party balances within the month-end timeline.
• Prepare estimated and actual financial report of the joint venture within the month-end timeline. Answer the queries from HQ reporting team in Beijing in a timely manner.
• Work closely with the refinery site controllers and related party companies to reconcile the intercompany and related party balances within the month-end timeline.
• Prepare Entrepreneurial trading performance analysis and provide commentary to management on key drivers in the financials for the month.
• Prepare detailed balance sheet reconciliations and demonstrate movements in balance sheet to profit and loss.
• Assist in the interim and year-end financial audit in relation to the Entrepreneurial business.
• Assist with the implementation and review of internal controls and enhance procedures to improve efficiency and streamline automation of manual processes. The Skills You'll Need to Succeed:
• Fluent in Mandarin and English
• Degree in Accounting/Finance or equivalent
• Experience of financial reporting and analysis in medium sized Chinese companies
• Experience of settlement and accounting in energy companies would be advantageous
• Strong analytical skills, ability to prioritize workload
• Proficient in SAP and Microsoft Office (Excel, Powerpoint).
• Knowledge in FRS 101 and IFRS
• Knowledge of trading system(s) such as Symphony and Endur would be advantageous.
• Qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent would be ideal but not essential
• Strong work ethic and take initiative at work
• Ability to Multitask
