Based in the city of London my client is an international professional members organisation, which is guaranteed by Royal Charter and enjoys Charitable status , albeit the company operates on a strong commercial footing and has a world class management team. We are exclusively retained to assist with the appointment of a Global Finance Director. The job profile is as annotated below. To direct the finance function, ensuring appropriate financial controls are in place across the business, and assist with the monitoring of non-financial controls as necessary. To attend and deputise where necessary as Chair of the management accounts review meetings. To attend and contribute to Executive Team, Board and Audit Committee meetings, and contribute to key business and financial projects as appropriate To manage the treasury function for the optimum deployment of funds within the prudent investment policy To review the annual financial statements for all companies and ensure compliance with recommended accounting practices. To authorise bank payments within specified signing limits. Set up bank accounts for the international offices where required. To prepare annual budgets and financial forecasts, liaising closely with all budget holders and directors. To direct the timetable and the budget process as a whole. To oversee the production of the VAT return on a quarterly basis, ensuring all income and expenditure is correctly analysed. Review and agree the VAT recovery formula with HMRC where necessary. To act as controller for all external contracts. Line management of the Finance department. To ensure both UK and international subsidiaries financial, management, and annual audited accounts are produced accurately and within agreed timescales To liaise with external professional advisors, particularly in respect of legal, trade mark, compliance and taxation issues In addition, employees are required to carry out any other duties as may reasonably be required. To produce Board level reports and commentary from the monthly management accounts. The role would suit a qualified accountant, with at least ten years post qualification experience. The role might also suit someone who has had a career break and is seeking a return to work, in an engaging and rewarding environment, but one where the hours are really 9am to 17.30 with no requirement for additional hours. The salary on offer is circa £95,000 with an attractive discretionary bonus scheme, 7.5 % pension scheme and thirty days holiday.
