Finance Officer Peterborough Part time - 24 hours per week over 4 days £16,361 Flexi-time in operation, subject to adequate cover arrangements. Be required to attend meetings at various venues within Peterborough and early evening trustee board meetings. We are looking for a Finance Officer to take charge of the financial health by administering accounting operations to meet legal requirements. You should be familiar with audits, invoices and budget preparations. You will maintain and operate our finances, including bank reconciliation, accounts payable and accounts receivable. Ultimately, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our financial transactions and procedures, including payroll, pensions and VAT. Duties and Responsibilities Finance & General Purposes Committee and regular liaison with Honorary Treasurer Preparing VAT quarter and ensuring timely statutory returns Liaising with external stakeholders as necessary, as bankers, auditors and advisors Co-ordinating the financial year end external audit Overseeing and reporting on income and expenditure and to support business planning and development Input supplier invoices and credit notes Input sales receipts Ensure prompt payments of supplier invoices and staff and volunteer expenses Ensure QB is maintained and items are in the correct class and account code Create invoices and chase those that remain unpaid Keep fixed asset register up to date and post depreciation journals Create monthly forecast report with variance analysis and significant issues for CEO Maintain deferred income and prepayment accounts Create annual and 3 year budgets, update as required Monitor cash flow and make bank transfers between accounts as required Maintain Petty cash float Complete payroll monthly, including processing salary payments and making payment to HMRC Maintain auto enrolment pension account, including monthly pension contributions spreadsheet on The People's Pension Ongoing bank reconciliation using QB for connected bank accounts followed by monthly bank reconciliation Ensure payments coming out of bank account are recorded and then invoiced Quarterly financial reports for the finance sub-committee and trustee board Quarterly Financial Health Management reports Quarterly MAS financial reports Annual audit including creating draft accounts, setting up audit meetings and completing tasks as required for the audit Complete annual review of financial procedures document to keep up to date Prepare annual remuneration review report for trustee board Create adhoc budgets for new projects as required Adhoc financial reports for funders as required If this role sounds of interest, please APPLY today
