Update trading, profit and loss account, reviewing trading position and estimate year end Review balance sheet and investigate significant variances Assist with stock take and stock valuation, adjusting the P&L where appropriate Review profitability of pricing proposals Maintain asset register, calculating depreciation and processing additions and disposals Managing sales and purchase ledger, including entering Customer & Supplier invoices. Credit control and debt chasing All bank account reconciliation; enter BACS receipts from customers; enter credit card receipts and reconcile against merchant statements; enter and reconcile cash receipts; enter automatic electronic bank payments; reconcile bank account statements Enter expenses onto Sage and reconcile against receipts Monthly payroll; generation of payslips; online payment of wages; online payment of HMRC deductions; reconciliation of PAYE/NI deductions against payments; process starters & leavers; staff holidays and pensions. Preferential but not essential VAT & EC sales return; Prepare VAT return and submit online monthly Management of forecasting and costing files Key skills and experience: Strong experience within a senior finance role including management forecasting, costing, credit control, purchase and sales ledger as well as payroll. Knowledge of Sage and ideally including Bill of Materials. Proficient user of Microsoft Office packages, particularly Excel. Due to the location of our site in Leiston, access to a car would be highly beneficial. The Financial Controller role to be based on 30 hours per week, working over 5 days. On offer to the ideal candidate a full time salary of £28,000 pro-rata to 30 hours a week.
