SERVICE CHARGE ACCOUNTANT - Reports to the Central Systems and Finance Manager To lead on migrating the company from Fixed Service charges to variable Service charges for Social Tenants. Key

Responsibilities:
Very skilled with working with stakeholders across the business to set accurate service charge estimates and actuals to our residents. This will ensure that residents have clarity on the service charges that are due, and they can be accounted for in an efficient and effective manner. Provide details of service charge accounts to tenants and leaseholders on estimated and actual costs. Responsible for accurate estimation and reconciliation of service charges for existing schemes & new developments to ensure compliance with current legislation. To calculate service charges for each agreed cycle within the development programme for review providing guidance and support to development and ensuring compliance with current legislation. This will include attending new scheme meeting and site visits. Ensuring that allowable costs are coded to estates and properties in a timely and accurate manager ensuring that costs are accurately coded to block level feeding back discrepancies to the relevant departments in a timely fashion Develop effective relationships with service managers and external managing agents to ensure all demands and notifications are served in accordance with legislation and the head lease. Carry out monthly variance monitoring of all property expenditure against income charged. To lead on the independent certification of accounts by the External Auditor in accordance with legislation and the legal requirements of the lease and /or agreement for properties in management and subsidiaries. To ensure that all service charge schedules are issued on time and that the financial information necessary to produce the schedules is accurately and systematically recorded. Regularly review service costs, identify variances and errors and correct. Manage a team of four systems officers and one assistant service charge accountant. Work together with the Service Charge Accounts Team Leader for the Leasehold Tenants Any other tasks that may be assigned by the Central Systems and Finance Manager. Key Skills: Advanced Excel Skills Have a background in service charge accounting and thorough knowledge of the legislation governing the calculation of service charges for Tenants. Be immediately available Have the adaptability to hit the ground running Good Team leadership skills
