Chief Financial Officer £Six figure package Swindon tmgroup is the leading supplier of property searches in the UK, with a market share of c.20%. It is a highly successful and profitable business that has delivered substantial and sustained EBITDA growth for a number of years and it enjoys an excellent cash positive position. These strong fundamentals are further underpinned by the fact that it is owned by the UK's three largest estate agencies who provide it with just the right balance of support and autonomy. Our existing product set is comprehensive and highly regarded and despite our already strong position in the market, there is still a considerable opportunity to grow the current service streams. We have a long-term vision which places tmgroup and our technology at the heart of the UK property transaction process and there is a strategy in place to grow our existing market share and expand our technology offering into new sectors of the market in line with that vision. The successful execution of that strategy requires a careful balance of investing in new product in a new market without detracting from the effort required to maintain and grow an established product in a highly competitive marketplace. Over the course of the next 3-years we are looking to grow the business from a turnover of £70M to £90M and double the profit before tax from £5M to £10M, with the potential for substantial growth thereafter. As part of that journey, it remains imperative that we retain a strong focus on our financial performance and this is where you come in. We are looking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer to our Executive team who will not only oversee the financial governance of the business securely and maximise the returns for our shareholders, but who will also play a key role in supporting and shaping our ongoing strategy. This role is not only hands-on in the form of running an onsite finance team, but also in supporting the wider business both in improving existing performance and assisting in new sales. For example, you will be a key part of the company's "Executive" team, meeting weekly but in constant dialogue and making critical decisions as a team about the right direction of the business. You will sit on the tmgroup board along with the Executive team and senior leaders from our shareholders and report regularly on the performance of the business. You will be involved in the oversight of a subsidiary business, Conveyancing Data Services, acquired in April 2018 and our wholly-owned Scottish business, Property Searches Scotland and you will play a key role in any future acquisitions or indeed disposals. We are looking for someone who has worked at either No.1 or No.2 level within a finance function of an SME that operates within the B2B services sector; ideally within a technology led, high volume transaction business. Clearly you must have gained broad ranging financial management experience, but crucially you must have also played a very active and engaged role in helping to shape the future direction of the business and in working across it as a true business partner, in order to make a significant contribution to its commercial success. Your personal approach will be key and aside from your proven ability to lead and develop an experienced and capable team, you must also possess a natural curiosity and desire to really 'get under the hood' of the commercial engine of a business and pro-actively seek to make a difference. In part this is about your ability to make a sound contribution at the strategic level, including providing insightful analysis that facilitates good business decision making, but it is also very much around your desire to then take a 'hands-on' approach to ensuring delivery; and your ability to work enthusiastically and collaboratively with the Board, our engaged and supportive shareholders and our positive and friendly employees across the business. A full briefing pack is available and will be emailed out to people who either apply or who call Christian Blunden or Gavin Burgess at Aquista on 01765 635 105.
