A market leading business in Watford are currently seeking a commercially focused Management Accountant to join their small but busy team. Reporting into the Commercial Finance Manager, you will be responsible for preparation of the monthly management accounts. Key

Responsibilities:
Preparation of the monthly management accounts within six working days. Detailed exception reporting, review of results with budget holders and preparation of management information for board pack. Updating the year-end forecast on a monthly basis through partnering with commercial teams to understand run-rates and commercial opportunities. Assist with preparation of the annual budget through business understanding, the application of modelling skills and by challenging assumptions. Produce the FFO report with variance analysis on a monthly basis and preparation and posting of all journals. Monthly completion of all Balance Sheet reconciliations. Monthly completion of Bank Reconciliations. Provide support for VAT return production on a quarterly basis. Provide support for intercompany checks on a monthly basis on balances, prepayments and accruals, service charge, interest and fees. Assist with co-ordination of the Tax compliance, including Corporation Tax returns. Assist with co-ordination of the statutory accounts. Assist the Group Financial Controller with Treasury Management across the Group including dealing with our banking relationship manager. Experience / Skills Needed: A part qualified accountant with excellent technical knowledge. Detailed variance analysis, forecasting and budgeting, month end close procedures "Hands on" attitude with good attention to detail - essential. Ability to work to tight deadlines and deliver results. Ability to communicate with both senior management and operational staff Excellent Excel skills a must (pivots, v-lookups, sumifs); JD Edward & Insight experience preferable. Ability to clearly explain the financial impact of certain transactions to non-financial staff Willingness to recommend, accept and encourage change within the organisation Ability to manipulate large volumes of data.
