Role could also be based in Reigate, Leeds, Manchester, Edinburgh, Bristol, Birmingham The Role Our data services span a range of clients with different UK pension administration systems and our solutions are either delivered within the team, across several areas of the Willis Towers Watson business or in partnership with specialist external suppliers. As a fast growing team, we want experienced Defined Benefit Pensions professionals from an administration or actuarial background to join us as Senior Pensions Data Specialists to lead the technical delivery of various data projects to our clients, including data audits, cleanse and construction, and GMP related projects. The candidate will play an essential role in a range of technical projects, take responsibility for successful delivery of the work and work closely with other members in a diverse project team. The candidate will be used to communicating technical issues in a clear way to a broad audience, including to clients. It is expected that you will be highly numerate with good analytical skills and be very comfortable with using modern software. In addition the candidate will have good organisation skills and demonstrate core project management behaviours to complement their technical expertise. Experience in pension correction and rectification exercises would be advantageous as well as more advanced data auditing and cleansing all elements of Pension data. Risk Solutions The Willis Towers Watson Risk Solutions team works across multiple disciplines, various lines of business and with third-parties to help clients de-risk their pension schemes. One key strand of the Risk Solutions business is Data Solutions which supports clients in the strategic planning and implementation of data management programmes that support wider business objectives. Requirements The essential skills/experience for this role are:
• Strong knowledge and experience of UK DB Pension arrangements
• A good understanding of manual benefit calculations and processes. In particular, in the areas of designing, specifying, developing, implementing, testing, trouble-shooting and signing-off solutions and deliverables for clients
• Practical experience and expertise delivering retirement consulting and project based pensions services
• A clear, concise and confident communicator of complex or technical issues relating to UK pensions and member data to a broad audience, both verbally and in writing
• Comfortable with data and pension services and products that require technology and software
• A firm commitment to delivering high quality service
• Ability to work both independently and on client teams and enjoy a fast-paced environment
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly Excel
• Proven delegation skills and a natural desire to coach and mentor junior associates Other highly desirable skills/experience are:
• Experience in developing close working relationships with clients and/or external third parties, or suppliers
• Experience in data auditing, data cleanse and construction, and GMP exercises
• Foundation level SQL skills - specify and configure SQL reports to interrogate data and then present findings
• Inquisitive, self-starter attitude and ability to work with ambiguity
• Experience of pension administration systems
