Financial Planning Analyst
Central London Duration: 3 Month FTC (Immediate start) Role objective To redevelop the company's medium term cash flow model Document and agree the scope and output specifications with key stakeholders Identify sources of input data to ensure inputs are easily refreshed and kept up to date Develop a user friendly & agile model that models the key cash dynamics of the business and is capable of evolving with the plans of the business. Alignment of the medium term financial forecasting model with the short term 12 week forecast model. Analysis of working capital elements with focus on variances to expectations including development of key working capital and cash KPIs. Reforecasting of cash flow projections on a rolling monthly basis taking into account variances to date. Liaising with regional business units to ensure "ownership" of the key input assumptions and final output of forecast. Ad hoc support of the Group CFO, Group financial controller and finance team as required. Skills & experience Qualified accountant (ACA, CIMA or international equivalent 5 PQE Must have held a business partner / trading partner FP&A role Must have worked in an international business: different international direct and indirect tax regimes, different international payroll environments, different international normal payments terms will all drive differences in cash flow and working capital profiles Must understand the balance sheet in order to understand cash movements It would be preferable that they have worked with or built a cash forecasting tool or process - but it is not essential. Good general business acumen is more important. Must have above average Excel skills, even for an FP&A analyst Must be willing and able to travel (possible travel to New York, Chennai, Bangalore, Hong Kong): ultimately the newly created role needs to be set up and "industrialised" so it can be offshored to either Chennai (in-house) or Bangalore (third party outsourcer) Needs to be confident with superiors: will report to Group CFO; will liaise with and informally "manage upwards" the international finance teams to drive continuous improvement and consistent, centralised practices Needs to be able to work well on their own: I don't have enough time to coach and direct.
