Axon Moore are assisting a well-respected business in East Yorkshire with the recruitment of a Financial Controller. Reporting into the Finance Director, the Financial Controller will manage core finance and will work closely with colleagues across operational and commercial finance to drive business performance. The Financial Controller will oversee; the preparation of the monthly & statutory accounts, financial processes & controls, balance sheet integrity & cash management, and will work as a key advisor to the Finance Director. It's important that you're comfortable getting into the detail whilst also able to business partner and assist with strategic decision making. Key

responsibilities:
- Leading the ongoing development of core finance, including management accounts and transactional finance teams - Budgeting and forecasting - ongoing development of forecasting models, working closely with operational and commercial stakeholders - Preparing monthly management accounts and associated analysis - Monthly cost reporting - working with budget holders to optimise savings and manage the cost base - Ensuring that all analysis and commentary in the board-pack is accurate and relevant - Statutory Accounting and liaison with external auditors and advisors - Management of cash-forecasting, foreign exchange and monitoring compliance with banking covenants Key skills / experience required: - Fully qualified Accountant with at least 2 years' experience as Financial Controller (or equivalent) - Strong relationship building skills - you'll be comfortable dealing with people at all levels within the business - Keen eye for making improvements - you'll be able to offer numerous examples of improvements you've made to reporting / analysis / processes / controls previously - Recent experience of working within medium-to-large (minimum £50m turnover), fast-paced organisations is greatly preferred - Experience of working within a fast-growth environment would be preferred - Willingness to be visible and take ownership - this is a lean business so you'll review work and play a key part in strategic development, but also need to get stuck in to the detail on occasion The role will pay £60-65,000 plus car allowance, pension and a strong bonus scheme.
