Department Description : This is a maternity cover fixed term contract (employed) role for 12 months. Control of monthly management reporting, journal posting, performance of SOX controls and balance sheet reconciliation and review. Annual and half-yearly financial reporting, audit and compliance with UK and International financial reporting and tax authorities for the group. Implement reporting, system, internal control and accounting policy improvements. Job Description :
• Control month-end close of management accounts.
• Posting of corporate and overheads journals.
• Perform controls in line with group SOX program.
• Perform balance sheet reconciliations and participate in quarterly reviews.
• Contribute to annual audit and compliance processes.
• Control intercompany invoicing and recharges.
• Manage the group's corporations tax and VAT compliance obligations. Prepare quarterly VAT return.
• Implement control and accounting policy improvements.
• Implement reporting and systems developments.
• Not a budget holder but contributes to budgeting and controlling spend in cost centres.
• Month-end close, financial reporting and tax compliance.
• Ensuring accuracy of profit and loss and balance sheet, which drives financial reporting objectives of the group. Basic Requirements :
• Qualified accountant.
• Financial accounting and taxation (primarily VAT) experience.
• Experience of balance sheet reconciliation and management thereof.
• Experience of SOX environments and performance of key controls.
• Accounting systems - SAP and Oracle.
• Ability to manage, plan, organise and prioritise workload.
• Good communicator in person and with group contacts overseas.
