US Tax & Financial Services Limited seeks a Tax Associate for its US individual expatriate tax division. The principle function of the role is to prepare complex tax returns with a specific understanding of the foreign side of US tax and gather data and prepare correspondence for taxation authorities. The post holder will be required to understand and identify possible issues related to tax filing positions and risk management, be proficient in the use of tax research material and take responsibility to have relevant knowledge acquired on client engagements input into knowledge management sources. S/he will also need to attend client meetings with Directors, Senior Managers and/or Managers. Candidates must be either a member of a professional group with a code of conduct, a licensed CPA, enrolled agent or US lawyer with a minimum of 4-6 years individual US tax compliance. International location experience preferred. S/he should be able to demonstrate superior customer/client service that has been or can be documented by existing and/or former clients and show a willingness to be an acting manager with more straightforward clients. Applicants should stay current on technical matters and demonstrate relevant knowledge of all technology tools used to manage tax engagements. S/he must be able to manage workload effectively, be keen to continue professional development and be pro-active with high levels of initiative and self determination. The post holder must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, be highly detail oriented, accurate and organised along with having a sense of urgency. He/she must be able to establish good team rapport and be ready to train and develop a junior team. He/she must be available to work additional hours during busy season.
