SF Recruitment are currently seeking an Assistant Financial Accountant on behalf of a well established business based in Nottingham City Centre Reporting to the Finance Manager you will be responsible for: - Produce yearly budgets - Check all utility invoices to make sure they are correct and then code to the correct account. Ensure that all units are invoiced - Resolve any queries arising on utility invoices - Calculate monthly accruals / prepayments for Gas, Electricity, Water, Rent, Rates, Service Charges - Review occupancy cost centres each month and correct any mispostings - Maintain forecast spreadsheet for actual monthly postings - Keep an up to date spreadsheet of leased vehicles and their drivers - Prepare monthly journals for car leasing, fuel costs and vehicle insurance - Maintain insurance database for changes to fleet - Budgeting process for ICT cost centres - Meet with managers to create an accurate IT budget - Review accruals and prepayments each month and produce necessary journals - Provide insightful monthly commentaries on the performance of cost centres - Review cost centres each month for errors and mispostings - Update forecast spreadsheet for actual monthly postings - Look for ways to continually improve the accuracy and timeliness of the company's statutory accounts - Review financial processes to eliminate waste and errors - Be proactive in the safeguarding of the company's assets and detection of fraud - Provides cover for other members of the financial team - Responsibility for CIS / Intrastat submissions - Monitor the Duty paid on imports to ensure the correct rates are used - Responsibility for the Irish VAT return and monthly Irish Sales Report - Various monthly / annual National Statistics surveys - Overall responsibility for the accurate posting of journals The ideal candidate will be studying towards their professional qualification of ACCA/CIMA (or the equivalent), be proactive, have at least 12 months experience in a similar role, have strong excel skills, be analytically minded and have excellent communication skills.
