Credit Risk Manager Our client is an independent UK headquartered Trade Finance company that has 10 international offices spanning 3 continents. They were founded to provide a low cost and practical solution to the financing of supply chains around the world. Due to continued expansion they're now recruiting a Credit Risk Manager to join the team in Guildford, Surrey. Key job activities: Counterparty assessment - analysing counterparties' credit worthiness via credit data, financial statements, and systems to determine the degree of risk involved in extending credit, and to recommend appropriate credit limits and/or credit structures; Credit control - regular periodic renewal and continuous monitoring of counterparty status, and anticipation and management of breaches and exceptions; Credit portfolio reporting - preparing credit portfolio reports that include the degree of risk involved in extending credit, general risk and ad hoc reporting; and Counterparty maintenance - developing and maintaining relationships with counterparties and/or third-party introducers. Skills: Understanding of the key elements of Credit Risk Management with an emphasis on credit assessment in a trade finance, working capital or commercial/corporate banking environment; Experience of commercial lending and credit assessment, along with general knowledge of large industry sectors and their risks; Ability to produce accurate credit papers and reports within tight deadlines; Fluent in English. Other language skills would be beneficial. Competencies: Excellent computer skills. Advanced Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, with a strong knowledge of finance and statistical analysis capabilities; Strong analytical skills with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels; Outstanding writing and visual communication skills, with strong attention to detail; Ability to work in a multicultural environment and across multiple time zones; Strong desire and ability to learn new skills; Pro-active in achieving results; Drive and desire to contribute as part of a successful team and cope with rapid business growth; and Able to build productive working relationships with Front, Middle and Back offices. Experience: Strong credit risk background either in a credit function or a front line credit focused role in a Commercial/Corporate Bank preferably with a Trade and/or Working Capital focus, however strong 'generalists' will definitely be considered.
