circa £65,000 benefits Contract Type: Permanent (Full-Time) Closing Date for Applications: 22nd April 2019 We are looking for an experienced Director of Finance who will drive, influence and manage a controlled and efficient finance function to deliver accurate financial results in a strong, control focused environment. You will influence and manage financial and commercial risk and expose opportunities for margin improvement. Acting as a trusted Senior Finance Business Partner to support and advise DHL SC operational, commercial and financial stakeholders as well as the customer(s). You will be active in delivering the UK&I finance strategy. The Key Responsibilities of the Director of Finance will include: 1) Making your customer more successful a. Provide financial governance and support as a senior business partner b. Drive, influence and manage solutions to minimise financial and commercial risk c. Improving efficiency, profitability and cash flow d. Provide appropriate analysis and recommendations to influence decision making processes e. Communicate any changes in commercial and financial requirements effectively f. Manage and influence multiple internal and external stakeholders including customers, Business Unit peer group, UKI commercial and finance teams and customer(s) g. Ensure financial and customer reporting and forecasting aids decision making in the business h. Drive and influence commercial issues and discussions with customers around issues such as rate reviews, KPI's, gain share performance and changes in contract 2) Shaping Direction a. Deliver BU and UKI strategy b. Adopt and deliver the UKI Finance strategy c. Become the senior finance reference point for operational counterparts d. Influence and drive the strategic direction of the business and associated initiatives 3) Driving High Performance a. Ensure financial controls are highly effective and compliant b. Create and maintain high class financial reporting c. Identify and manage financial and commercial risk through a thorough understanding of commercial terms, ongoing performance and other factors d. Influence and manage sources of profit delivery including flex budgets, gain share, KPIs, pricing mechanisms etc. e. Manage and monitor ongoing future financial performance f. Create, drive and manage improvement programmes to aid efficiency and profitability g. When required, support the preparation of contracts and business cases from a commercial and financial perspective, working with other stakeholders (legal, risk, property, tax etc.) to ensure profit optimisation and risk mitigation h. Support cost builds for renewal and new business opportunities utilising existing knowledge and UKI best practice 4) Control and Governance a. Ensure adherence to DPDHL accounting standards, business compliance, policies and procedures are adopted and complied to b. Own and deliver quality, effectiveness and robustness of the reporting and control agenda c. Drive financial and commercial reporting and forecasting to aid decision making d. Working with the UK&I accounting and governance team to ensure full alignment with the UK&I Divisional framework 5) Developing Others a. Actively manage develop and motivate the finance team b. Manage and support career development and succession agenda c. Manage and develop financial and commercial expertise in the business To be successful as a Director of Finance in DHL Supply Chain you need the following: Proven track record in a similar level role with experience of the above requirements Experience in business management, financial auditing, leadership or a similar role Ability to influence key decision makers at all level Excellent knowledge of accounting processes and terminology People management experience and excellent communication skills Relevant financial qualification (ICAEW, CIMA, ACCA) or equivalent Degree educated in a relevant subject (Finance, Economics, Business Administration) or similar Joining the DHL family is easy If you feel that you meet the criteria, have the passion to succeed and have the DHL values simply apply online, uploading an -up-to-date CV with your application.
