Robertson Bell Finance is proud to be working with a well-recognised public sector organisation based in Bedford in their search for an Interim Finance Analyst. The role is for an initial 6-month contract with the potential to be extended. Reporting into the Management Accountant, you will play a fundamental part in supporting the provision of financial advice to senior stakeholders within the organisation inclusive of budget setting and reporting, and the closure of month-end accounts. Other responsibilities include but are not subject to: The effective completion of all Grants, Statistical Returns and working papers within the specified time-scale and to an appropriate standard. Assisting the Management Accountant in the preparation of capital budgets and annual revenue. Assist in the development of the medium-term financial strategy. Liaise closely and challenge budget holders to ensure all expenditure remains in budget throughout the financial year. Ensure compliance with internal and external audit requirements through ensuring all processes are recorded accurately and with appropriate detail. The successful candidate will be an AAT qualified accountant. You will be a proficient communicator and are able to build effective relationships with budget holders and other key stakeholders. Public sector experience would be advantageous, but by no means is it essential. The role is moving very quickly with CVs being reviewed daily, so you will need to be immediately available or on a short notice period to be considered for this position.
