Aviva in Bristol are now looking for a Senior Finance Manager on a 12 to 14 month Fixed Term Contract within our impactful Global Finance Strategic Change (GFSC) team. In this position, you will provide global project oversight within the Financial Impacts and Commercial workstreams which includes supporting project management activities, impact analysis and communication. This role will interact with all markets across the Group, working closely with the Market IFRS 17 Leads. As part of the core Change capability within Aviva Finance, you'll support our IFRS 17 Financial Impacts & Commercial teams. Based in Bristol, our core change team is made up of a mixture of accounting and actuarial staff. The role could be done under flexible working arrangements, including part-time working. Want to know more about the team? Our IFRS 17 Financial Impacts team overlook understanding, analysing and communicating all financial impacts across Aviva Group. We work directly with the market SMEs to review and approve financial impacts across IFRS 17. This team is also responsible for developing the strategic IFRS 17 lens through which business decisions are made. It will include developing new Key Performance Indicators and crafting the external messaging for analysts, investors and shareholders. The teams work closely with the wider project team to propose approaches to IFRS 17 that considers the Financial, Operational and Technical implications for the underlying markets and Group. These proposals will then be presented to the IFRS 17 Working Groups prior to seeking approval at the IFRS 17 Steering Committee. Our GFSC team will have global responsibility for governing all required process, data and system changes to deliver combined strategic systems and process change, including IFRS17. All of our strategic change work is focussed on making sure we meet both our Aviva and finance objectives of customer, simplicity and growth. What are the duties & responsibilities? You'll provide project oversight and co-ordination within the workstreams You'll review impact assessment documents prior to submission to the working groups You'll work directly with the Market & Group Subject Matter Experts to review their financial impacts And you'll contribute to papers and potentially present proposals at the IFRS 17 Working Groups What skills & experiences are required? Qualified accountant with significant insurance financial reporting experience, ideally across both IFRS and Solvency II Awareness of the new IFRS 17 standard would be advantageous but can be learned in role Ability to work creatively to develop solutions to fresh analytical problems Strong communication skills - ability to communicate with business partners to understand their requirements and to explain impacts Flexible to look at a range of issues across a wide number of customers, products and markets High confidence with your interpersonal skills and a willingness to work with colleagues from across Aviva What will you get for this role?
