Audit Assistant Manager (With International Travel) McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a Top10 Accountancy Practice who are looking to strengthen their International team with the appointment of an Audit Assistant Manager for their Central London offices. You will be part of a specialist team carrying out audits and special assignments for internationally funded projects in Europe and Worldwide. Assignments are principally in connection with projects funded by organisations such as the European Commission, World Bank, United Nations, Governmental development bodies and NGOs. Key duties include:
• Responsibility for assignment planning, leading field work, opening and closing client meetings and drafting the assignment report.
• Dealing with public sector audit issues and techniques, providing guidance to team members based on previous experience
• Understanding public sector client structures and the legal/contractual frameworks in which assignments are performed
• Understanding International Standards on Auditing (ISAs) and providing guidance to team members
• Preparing tailored plans for large or complex assignments based on an understanding of the terms of reference
• Leading assignment fieldwork teams including locally based staff for large or complex assignments
• Leading client opening meetings and presenting audit findings at close meetings
• Being aware of assignment deadlines and working with the team to ensure deadlines are met
• Monitoring assignments against budget and discussing with the Audit Manager if budget overruns are anticipated
• Providing on the job training and guidance to junior team members throughout the assignment process To be considered for the role you should be a qualified ACA/ACCA/CIPFA Accountant with at least 4 year's experience in practice, preferably including some public sector experience. You should be able to work under pressure with accuracy and focus, have sound technical and analytical skills with strong staff planning and supervision experience. Public sector knowledge and interest is highly desirable for this role, as is a second language (especially French, Spanish or German). You should also be passionate about international travel and willing to work in international locations for approx. 50% of the time. On offer is a salary up to £50,000 depending on experience with benefits to include company pension, healthcare and 25 days holiday.
