Overview of Role: The role of Commercial Data Analyst is a key role within the company (a successful IT/Telco business) to help maximise revenue growth and margin whilst maintaining market competitiveness and protecting brand values. The principle accountabilities for this role include maintaining up to date tariff information both externally and within internal systems, proposing and authorising bespoke pricing and analysis of margin reports to identify areas to maximise margins. The Commercial Analyst will work closely with all areas of the business including Billing, Marketing, Products, Sales and Customer Management. responsibilities:
Operational: Support the Senior Commercial Analyst on a day to day basis Create and maintain external tariff sheets for Customers, Channel Partners and Sales teams Co-ordinate changes to internal tariffs held in the billing system Authorise bespoke pricing requests for new business and customer retention, subject to agreed margin parameters Gain a thorough understanding of pricing tools for bespoke pricing Develop and maintain pricing and proposal tools using excel Work with the Marketing Team to co-ordinate the timing and messaging of pricing changes to Customers, Channel Partners and internal teams Investigate day to day pricing queries from internal departments Tariff Expert analysis work and maintenance of tariffs within Tariff Expert Assisting maintenance of online systems Carry out bill analysis and suggest pricing for prospective and existing customers Ensure Commercial documentation is kept up to date and is accessible to key stakeholders Auditing and Reporting Investigation into and co-ordination of the correction of loss making products Work with the Billing team on adhoc revenue assurance activities to maximise margins Interpretation of excel based margin reporting to analyse trends and investigate anomalies Other: Develop relationships with company pricing team and external suppliers as may be necessary Analyse competitor pricing and share with relevant departments Develop a thorough understanding of the company product set and all associated costs Develop and understand different pricing strategies and their impacts Adhoc tasks and projects as may be required Knowledge, Skills & Experience: Ideally the candidate should have 2 to 3 years' experience in a Telecoms pricing or commercial environment Strong Microsoft Excel skills Strong analytical and numerical skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adaptable, positive and confident Ability to prioritise work, delivering multiple requirements against tight deadlines and maintaining high levels of accuracy and concentration Ability to influence and motivate others Good organisational skills Have a desire to build a career in a commercial environment, have a preference for performing detailed work, a strong interest in systems and processes and will enjoy problem solving, taking the initiative, and driving solutions through to a successful conclusion Develop a strong business and commercial judgement to ensure best commercial practice is applied across the business at all times To apply please email in your CV with a covering note to support your application.
