SF Recruitment are currently looking to recruit a Financial Controller for a SME engineering business based in Derby. This is an exciting time to be joining the business as it has witnessed impressive growth over the last couple of years. this is a newly created position as a result of this growth. As the Financial Controller you will be reporting into the Finance Director, and offers commercial exposure to the senior stakeholders in the business and will provide valuable input into the commercial and operational decision-making strategy. As well as offering commercial support, you will also undertake management of the transactional team whilst driving process improvement across the team. Key
responsibilities:
• Oversee the accurate and timely production of management accounts on a monthly basis with narrative and analysis.
• Development of management information and KPI reporting to allow measured decision making by senior stakeholders.
• Lead the forecasting and budgeting processes to provide insight on key variances whilst also identifying key risks and opportunities.
• Review existing processes and systems to identify and implement changes to deliver greater efficiency and a slicker operation.
• Provide leadership to wider finance team, deputising for the Finance Director when necessary
• Support the Finance Director with projects and initiatives. You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with previous experience of working in a senior commercial finance role. You will be a motivated self-starter who has an appetite to progress their career within a fast paced and ever-changing business. You will have excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to work closely with senior stake holders across the business. You will have strong IT and systems skills including financial modelling skills.
