We are recruiting for a full time EXPERIENCED Accounts Assistant for a busy accountancy practice based in Dunstable. This position is paying £15 - £16 an hour for the right candidate. As the Accounts Assistant, you will be expected to provide accounts support to enable a efficient and professional service for all clients. The Accounts Assistant's duties will include: - Preparation and submission of quarterly tax returns -Communication with clients to ensure all issues are resolved in a timely manner -Preparation of accounts or sole traders, partnerships and limited companies - Book keeping services to a number of clients. This includes maintaining/ checking the client's book-keeping software, providing management accounts and other reports to directors and performing monthly bank reconciliations. -Preparation of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payroll for a number of clients including the processing of P60s, P45s and payslips and information to pension providers. -Credit control function for the business including checking and sending statements, making client calls and resolving client queries. -Ad hoc administrative duties such as answering client calls, attendance of client meetings, raising invoices and taking client payments. Experience necessary: - Accountancy practice experience - Sage 50 -Microsoft Excel -Technical knowledge of VAT return preparation -Previous experience in a similar role Our client is specifically looking for someone who is able to prioritise and who works well under pressure and against deadlines. Must be able to work well independently, as well as within a small team.
