Morgan Philips is currently recruiting for this high profile Financial Services client based in Edinburgh who are keen to secure a talented Head of Financial Crime Intelligence Unit/Nominated Officer for this dynamic challenger banking organisation This unique client covers a wide variety of banking products and the diversity of the business and growth plans for 2019 makes it a unique and exciting place to be Your role will include: Being the designated Nominated Officer (NO) for the business. Shaping, leading and directing the strategy for the design and oversee the implementation of Financial Crime screening and transactions monitoring strategies taking into account the operational impact and alignment to regulatory expectations. Setting and overseeing the downstream teams in managing the operational processes for screening, transaction monitoring and customer due diligence reviews. Designing and overseeing the Quality Control framework to be embedded within Financial Crime Operations. Designing and owning the governance and approval framework for rules and list management. Owning and management of the external relationships with external stakeholders (Government, National Crime Agency and industry peers) which will inform the development of the external threat matrix. Supporting the Head of Financial Crime to design and effectively implement the financial crime strategy, including innovation, Financial Crime programme and partner engagement. Some of the key aspects of the role: Designated Nominated Officer, responsible for overseeing the monitoring and reporting of suspicious activity and effectiveness of control framework supporting the nominated office function. Supporting the MLRO in defining and delivering an integrated Financial Crime strategy, appetite, framework and policies that are endorsed by the business and drive efficient and effective management of these risks across the business. Responsible for the design and operation of the Financial Crime risk management framework in relation to screening, rules and list management to identify and effectively manage Financial Crime risk. Setting clear responsibilities for management of Financial Crime within Financial Crime Operations and raise independent challenge/oversight on risk and control effectiveness, on the areas that impact the business and make recommendations that improve the customer experience/control framework. Responsible for managing the relationship with the National Crime agency and government bodies in relation to Financial Crime Setting the Financial Crime Risk Appetite and key risk indicators to be embedded by Financial Crime Operations. Monitoring and reporting of Financial Crime risk exposures and issues for FIU, and performance against risk appetite. This includes reporting significant issues, risks, variances and progress against the strategic plan to the MLRO. Creating, embedding and developing a culture within Financial Crime that lives the values and facilitates delivery of customer, shareholder and colleague objectives Managing people resource effectively, support and develop Partner talent, and foster Partner engagement through Group values. Supporting the development of the culture and ensure it is effectively embedded within the function. Deputising for MLRO as and when required.
