Hays Accountancy & Finance are partnering with a leading and well-established facilities management group looking to recruit for a dynamic and driven Assistant Project Accountant to join their hands-on team based in Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire. You will be working within a friendly team, which offers on the job training and professional development opportunities. The team is responsible for delivery of quality financial reports for a number of boards and stakeholders, satisfying their reporting and investment requirements to strict deadlines.
Your new role
Your key duties will involve overall control of accounting systems transactions falling in line with Financial Accountants and Management Accounts. You will assist in the preparation of accruals and prepayment journals on a monthly and quarterly basis, updating trial balance information along with responsibility to place banking deposits. You will assist in chasing monthly receipts as required and be involved the preparation of dividend proposals, loans, swaps and sub debt requirements. You will be involved in variance analysis of management accounts, models and cashflows along with reconciliation of customer and supplier recharges, control of purchase/sales orders reconciliation and re-posting of CIS tax movements. You will work with the finance management team in the continual review of improvement of processes/systems along with being involved in various financial projects.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for this progressive Assistant Project Accountant role you will have experience within a similar position, high standards of detail and be a team player with drive and enthusiasm. Ideally you will be AAT/ACCA/CIMA part-qualified working towards completion of your full qualification, candidates qualified by experience will be considered. You will need to have strong MS Excel skills and key communication skills to build internal/external relationships. Experience within facilities management sector would be advantageous but not essential.
