This is an award winning premium wine and spirits partner, with an impressive portfolio of 258 wine suppliers. As the Accounts Payable Manager, you will have overall responsible for workload and performance of the AP team. You will be the escalation point for disputes or queries from external or internal parties, and you will maximise cash flow by ensuring cash is collected in line with or below payment terms for all accounts. What you will be doing:
• Day to day management of team allocating resource as required in order to ensure the departments key objectives are met
• Provide an additional level of support/cover when team members are away to assist the team in order to alleviate short term workload issues
• Overseeing a high volume of transactions on purchase ledger, and high volume of expense postings
• Review the AP ledger on a weekly / Monthly basis in order to identity potential errors/omissions. This includes supplier statement reconciliations, identifying debit balances on the AP ledger
• Act as the central point for any issues / queries raised by suppliers /customers. Take ownership for ensuring these issues are resolved in a timely manner, and to the satisfaction of the internal and external stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement within the teams, make recommendations to head of finance on how to improve efficiency, and performance. Thereafter, implement these recommendations
• Review control environment and work to develop and implement robust controls, policies and processes
• Ownership of the AP work streams within the new ERP system implementation project including new scanning software - softcat due to be rolled out to the business in Autumn 2019. This will include amending current processes to align with the new system, stress testing the system prior to implementation, and training of staff prior to 'go live'
• Supporting weekly and monthly cash flow forecasting
• Assist with Preparation of Year End audit files and liaison with the auditors relating to AP Ledgers
• Managing Monthly close of AP information and supporting the commercial finance team with reporting and Analysis
• Business partnering with key contacts in the department ensuring team deliver first class service
• Leadership and personal development of the AP Finance Team through clear targets, measurements and creating a high achievement environment We are looking for somebody who has demonstrable experience as an AP Manager in a similar sized organisation. We are also looking for:
• Strong numerical skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and strong influencing skills
• Excellent team player
• Delivering accurately within tight timescales
• Advanced Excel Skills. Good working knowledge of Outlook, Word, Access You are required to be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.
