Job Purpose: Support the MI System upgrade project through the specification and communication of business requirements, liaison with development resource and other stakeholders, testing of planned solutions and other project related tasks; Prepare project closure summary of open actions for project sponsor consideration; Deliver required projected forecast simulations to support FinRep Regulatory reporting. Primary Responsibilities / Activities Creation and amendment of functional specification documentation pertaining to FinRep business projection capability. Preparation of test scripts and actioning these as part of pre-UAT. Assist in planning and resourcing the system testing required in relation to the IT "Build" cycle and reconcile data flows into the Oracle general ledger and "TheMIS" (DWH / Reporting) systems. Performing financial and other data reconciliations to support the testing of system upgrade developments and new reporting enhancements. Identify opportunities for efficiency through automation and process improvement. Co-ordinate with other BA's, DBAs, developers, business users, IT etc on the TheMIS project and other developments that have dependencies with TheMIS. Develop and maintain good working relationships with Operations, Systems and Front office departments. Provide assistance to Finance functions within the European division. Provide assistance to the MI team manager as required. Other Ad-hoc projects tasks as required. Special Requirements: Requires some late working. Qualifications (Essential / Desirable): Degree level education [E] Accountancy degree or equivalent [D] Part qualified / Qualified accountant [D] Project management (Prince2 or similar) qualification [D] Job Knowledge (Essential / Desirable): Some exposure to incomplete records accounting [D] Reasonable knowledge of Microsoft Office products [E] Some exposure to basic accounting procedures, eg reconciliation of accounts or completeness checks [E] Exposure to FinRep reporting [D] Experience (Essential / Desirable): Previous experience of working in or auditing a Financial Institution [D] Previous experience of working in an accounting environment or working with big data [D] Previous experience within Change Management and IT Systems Projects [D] Previous experience of data analysis or modelling [D] Previous experience creating project documentation [D] Previous experience performing UAT [D] Previous experience using JIRA or similar issue tracking tools [D] Previous experience using MS SQL Developer, Toad or Similar [D] Previous experience of forecasting B/S and P/L [D] Skills / Abilities (Essential / Desirable): Excellent communication skills [E] IT literate [E] Ability to create and edit Access databases including creating and editing queries and tables [D] Ability to create and edit spreadsheets and write simple Excel functions [E] Ability to perform VLOOKUPs and produce pivot tables in Excel [E] Good mathematical and numeracy skills including calculation of percentages [E] Good attention to detail [E] Personal Qualities (Essential / Desirable): Self-motivated [E] Able to work flexibly according to the needs of the business [E] Willingness to contribute suggestions / ideas to improve overall efficiency and effectiveness of work procedures [E] Proactive approach to managing project delivery and acting as a communication bridge across project teams [E] Advantage Resourcing is a service driven recruitment consultancy.
