Vitae are currently working exclusively with a top construction company in Hertfordshire to source a purchase ledger clerk to join their team. This role has come about due to company growth and would suit an individual with at least 2 years purchase ledger experience who would be able to come in and hit the ground running. The Role Fast and accurate entry of large volumes of supplier invoices Verification of invoices including price and quantity checks Collation of all relevant backup documentation and approvals including ensuring costs have been charged on to customers where appropriate Preparing reports to monitor open purchase orders and following up with colleagues across the business Resolving queries with department managers Pro-active management of selected supplier accounts Negotiating credits where needed, challenging incorrect invoices and raising queries Resolving queries with suppliers and internal contacts Reconciliation of supplier accounts to statement Preparation of supplier payments within deadlines Filing and other administrative duties to support the Purchase Ledger Team Requirements Previous Purchase Ledger / Data entry experience in a high volume environment Use of MS Office programs - excel, word, outlook The ability to work on own initiative and under pressure, with efficiency and accuracy A personable individual with excellent administration and organisation skills Confident, possessing an excellent telephone manner with clear and concise communication Excellent communication and organisational skills will be essential for this role as this is working as part of a lively, fast-paced finance team. On the job training will be provided but candidates will be expected to already have a working knowledge of accounts payable.
