Our client is currently seeking and Accounts payable Officer on an initial 3 month contract with the possibility of an extension. Working Hours: 37 hours per week Monday - Friday Pay Rate: £10.65 ph Job Purpose: The centralised Payables & Income team will process all payments to third parties and invoice and collect all miscellaneous income due to the Council. Duties and

Responsibilities:
Payables - Provide advice to internal services on the invoice payment process including requisitions and purchase orders. Payables - Entry and posting of supplier invoices and payment request forms including the processing of invoices from system interfaces e.g. Orchard, Trace (feeder systems) Payables - Assist with the Payment Run process for BACS, Cheques and Sundry Cheques. Payables - Assist with the correct operation of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) in accordance with HMRC guidelines, including identifying work within scope of CIS and the deduction recording and deduction of all tax due under the scheme. Payables - Creation and amendment of supplier accounts Payables - Review supplier statements Payables - Creation and testing of procedure notes Carry out any other duties as required by your line manager from time to time in accordance with the grading of the post. Skills and Experience: Experience of accounts payable module within a computerised financial management system Data inputting Developed use of excel for calculations, data management Knowledge of the Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) Knowledge of Value Added Tax (VAT) for accounts payables Experience in spreadsheets Numerate and accurate Excellent communication and customer service skills, both written and oral Experience of office ICT systems including Word, Excel, E-mail and searching for information on the internet Ability to create spreadsheets and manipulate data Ability to prioritise workload in response to client and business requirements Ability to work to deadlines Ability to maintain high concentration levels Ability to work on own initiative INDAM Disclaimer: By applying for this role, you give consent for your information to be forwarded to our Client(s) and information of which may be retained within our databases
