We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic individual to join the Personal Tax team as a Senior in the Bristol office of our client. Candidates must have a good educational background, with relevant experience within a busy Tax department. The role The successful applicant will be responsible for their own portfolio of high net worth private clients which will include the day-to-day administration of the portfolio, all aspects of tax compliance, and assisting with advice and planning projects. Reporting will be to the partners and management team. The allocation of work is primarily based around the preparation of self-assessment tax returns for private clients and wealthy individuals, partnerships and trusts. As well as preparation of associated tax computations, including CGT calculations on securities, chattels and property transactions and; all related and complex aspects of looking after the tax affairs of a variety of high net worth private clients, including non-UK domiciliaries, non-residences and internationally mobile individuals. The role provides an excellent range of work for someone with a strong personal tax background wishing to broaden their experience within a dedicated private client firm with an enviable client base, and to get involved in planning and advisory work. The individual The ideal candidate will have relevant experience in a personal tax practice role, currently operating in the capacity as a strong senior with a desire to step up in their role and take on a higher level of responsibility. Experience of assisting in the delivery of tax work, problem solving and the ability to use your own initiative is essential. Experience of sole trader accounts preparation and preparing computations from accounts would be desirable, as would any experience of tax planning and advisory work. Previous experience of using computerised accounts or tax software is essential (the firm uses CCH Central), as is the use of Outlook, Word and Excel. The successful applicant will require confidence in dealing with clients matters, excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, the ability to provide accurate work in a timely and cost-effective manner and comfortable at working under pressure and to tight deadlines. With this role, come the pre-requisites that the candidate is motivated, committed and flexible with the ability to meet deadlines. A natural team player is essential, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude, and a desire to provide a high level of client service. Candidates should be educated to at least A level, ideally degree level and will have obtained a relevant professional qualification i.e. CTA/ACA/ICAS.
