Hays Senior Finance are currently partnered with a successful Global manufacturing business based in Dundee to recruit a site specific Financial Controller. This is a full-time job offering a salary of £65,000+ depending on experience. The company has seen impressive growth over the last few years focusing on innovation and striving for improvement in every facet of its operations. They are now looking to expand their team with an experienced and knowledgeable individual who can learn and adapt easily. The role forms a key part of both the senior finance team and the Dundee operations leadership team and provides a privileged position embedded within the business. As part of the Senior Management team you will assist them in a very hands on finance business partnering capacity, reporting directly to the Regional Finance Director.
Your new role
The main function of the role is to support the Dundee facility and wider leadership teams through excellence in Business Partnering, Reporting, Financial Best Practice, Business Change and Communication. Your responsibilities will include leading and developing the existing finance team, business partnering to the Operations Director and the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring the delivery of monthly results, supporting information in line with the corporate timetable and delivering P&L and Balance Sheet reporting / analysis with commentary. You will have complete responsibility for the development and implementation of financial policy, the enforcement of internal controls and compliance and will have real time examples of this on your CV. You will also require excellent knowledge of financial accounting, cash management, compliance, tax, SOX, Audits, budgets, forecasting & business planning. The role will also require some travel to Europe.
What you'll need to succeed
You will be a qualified accountant with several years PQ experience in accounting and controlling ideally within a manufacturing environment. Your financial acumen will be a given but your expertise in business partnering is what will really make you stand out from the crowd. The Financial Controller position incorporates a blend of technical financial accounting with business partnering, team leadership and strong communication / influencing skills which require a high calibre individual who is strong interpersonally, self-motivated, flexible and possesses excellent business acumen. It is important that the Financial Controller brings energy, drive, passion and a highly inquisitive nature. Experience in the reporting, commercial and management requirements of a complex, global company will be an advantage. You will need strong analytical, quantitative, financial modelling, process building, and project management skills. Prior experience of staff management and development is essential as is being a strong proactive communicator with the ability to engage and influence at all levels and a well-developed commercial acumen with the ability to focus on top line growth and margin expansion.
