Part-Time Head of Finance, London Bridge, 4 days a week, six-month fixed term contract, salary circa £60-£80k FTE depending on experience (ref: GB2247) The Client Our client is a rapidly growing start-up, already operating in London and Manchester, with plans to establish a new hub in Bristol very soon. Their London Bridge office is based in a vibrant co-working space, surrounded by a community of diverse start-up and established businesses. They are now looking for a part-time Head of Finance to join them to support their next phase of growth. Initially this will be on a part time six-month fixed term contract basis, but with scope to become full time and/or permanent. Main duties and

responsibilities:
Lead the company's finance department and monitor all day to day financial operations including, the approval and issue of sales invoices, processing of accounts payable, approval of other company expenditure and bank transactions Update company financial spreadsheets with accounts receivable and accounts payable, track customer payments and actively chase outstanding debts Oversee the company bank balances, monitor cash movements and cash availability Act as principal point of contact for all incoming finance related queries from both customers and suppliers Liaise with the company external accountants to assist with bank reconciliations, the preparation of the monthly management accounts, the monthly payroll of employees, the quarterly VAT return, the year-end statutory accounts and tax computation Prepare the weekly payroll information for submission to the company external payroll provider, including approval of all overtime and expenses; act as principal point of contact for all pay related queries Undertake periodic review of charge and pay rates to ensure target profit margins are maintained; provide support to the sales and bookings teams by preparing price quotations and helping to negotiate charge rates Review financial data, prepare financial analysis and monthly reports to present to stakeholders (including the company's employees, senior management, board members and investors) in order to provide updates on company KPIs, other relevant information and identify potential areas for improvement Present financial analysis at monthly team meetings and use the financial reports to help management with both short-term and long-term strategic decision making Maintain and work to continuously improve the company's financial policies and procedures to ensure the company operates in line with financial regulations and legislation Provide other ad hoc support to other team members as required Your skills: Qualified accountant (ACA, CA, CIMA or equivalent), ideally with two years plus experience post qualification in a finance role Strong business acumen Highly analytical, with exceptional critical thinking and problem-solving skills Proficient user of excel, capable of working with large data sets and good experience with financial modelling Very organised with excellent attention to detail Highly effective communicator with an ability to explain numbers and financial analysis to others A great team member but also happy to work autonomously Able to take the lead and make key decisions Very proactive and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, Flexible and happy to help out with other ad hoc tasks as required The Terms A salary of between £60,000 - £80,000 FTE is on offer for this Head of Finance role, depending on experience and pro rata'd for hours worked. There are 25 days holiday, plus bank holiday (pro rata'd) and also and Auto Enrol pension.
