Part-Time Finance Manager. Exciting Start-Up Company (Mobile Telecoms). Initial 3-6 month contract. c22.5 hours (3 days) per week. Northampton. Attractive rates and excellent working environment (ref: JG2174) Our Client Our Northampton based client' have developed an innovative and exciting mobile telecoms development which is due to launch in June. As a team they believe in being clear, being fair, being purposeful and always working with a little splash of audacity The Role Our client are building a finance function at the 'Innovation Centre' in Northampton. This role is an amazing opportunity to join a start-up business reporting into the CFO to set up and lead the financial management and control function. Working alongside the CFO, responsibilities to support launch will also include developing and implementing: Our clients accounting system - expected to be Sage, currently QuickBooks - working in partnership with the rest of the business and their group function Strong internal controls and processes across finance and the rest of the business; revenue, expenditure, balance sheet Bank, cash management and controls, reporting and forecasting Alignment of reporting with their billing management function Management reporting & forecast structure and timetable, aligned with business and group requirements Other project work as required (e.g. VAT, audit). Post launch, working with the CFO, the role will continue to develop in terms of profile and responsibility establishing a strong partnership into the business senior management team and into group. Examples: development of business performance insight, systems, controls, treasury, managing outsource provider deliverables, tax, audit and risk management. The business will start off small and the successful candidate will also need to be adaptable as they build the team over time; for example, you may need to provide holiday cover for your colleagues in finance. This a very exciting and broad role, you'll have lots of autonomy and will be encouraged to share your ideas of how they can shape the team and grow. The Candidate You'll be qualified, having broad skills and a proven track record in finance, ideally mobile telecoms. This is a 'hands on' role which will require excellent communication, project and reporting skills, as well as a strong technical background with strong systems and database skills. You'll have an entrepreneurial spirit with a 'let's find a way to make it work' attitude, a strong desire to develop your own capabilities and to support others. If you are looking for a purpose-driven entrepreneurial role with significant opportunity for personal contribution and room to expand accountabilities, then this may be for you Terms This initially temporary 3 to 6 month contract may end up being a perm role for the right candidate. Being based in the innovation centre in Northampton it is easily accessible by car or train. Our client are looking for a candidate 3 days per week, or equiv. (with a mild preference for Tuesdays and Thursday, however this is not essential). A rate of c£28-30 per hour is available, depending on experience and suitability. Availability for an immediate start is preferable.
