Description

The key responsibilities will include:

Budget & Account Management

  • Responsible for the production and presentation of timely quarterly management accounts and accompanying variance analysis. To include short and long-term forcecasts of financial position, including cash flows

  • Ensure timely production of budgetary control and management information that is easily understandable to operational managers and directors

  • Lead and coordinate the budget planning process and, with the MD, prepare a sound budget for the following year

  • Prepare reports, both written and verbal, for the MD and, where required, the Board

  • Responsible for the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes

  • Manage financial risks and meet legislative and regulatory tax and financial reporting requirements

  • Manage investments and reserves

  • Ensure each department has appropriate internal controls. Assist in monitoring these include review of all 3rd party contracts undertken

  • Manage the payroll processing, ensuring accurate and timely payments in line with HMRC and other statutory requirements

  • Calculate any tax that is applicable and submit timely returns. Includes VAT, EC Sales lists, employment taxes, P11d forms and local tax

  • Manage insurances and other administrative functions.

  • Manage the annual audit process and prepare Annual Financial Accounts

  • Identify and present information to assist decision making when requested by the Board and within the management team and conduct investment appraisal. Ensure sound financial principles underpin the management team's decision-making.

  • Produce and present accurate and timely management reports to the Board quarterly. Explain all significant variances to budget.

  • Prepare and present a budget to the Board with explanations of any material movements in costs or income.

    • Meet requirements of audit best practice

Profile

You will be qualified or qualified by experience and have detailed experience at the Finance Manager level.

You will have commercial and public sector experience

You will have experience in SME environments

You will be hands on and confident in providing financial management information
