Assistant Accountant

Permanent Assistant Accountant job in Perthshire + Study Support. Salary up to £25,000 per annum.

Hays Accountancy & Finance are recruiting exclusively on behalf of their established client based in Perthshire. Salary is up to £25,000 depending on experience + Study support for professional qualification. Due to location, you must be able to drive and have access to a car.

Your new role

You will work as part of a small and busy team to provide financial and commercial support to various aspects and departments within the business. This will include but not limit too:

• Assist in closure of month end accounts, including interrogation of account codes to provide analysis
• Work with assigned teams to develop and continually improve routine accounting, control and operating processes, for example in stock accounting and monitor operation of these processes
• Ad-hoc preparation of analyses of data for assigned teams as required
• Key reconciliation and other balance sheet controls
• Maintain appropriate processes for accounting information (approval documentation, journals, reconciliations, etc)
• Preparation of VAT returns, corporate tax returns including Capital Allowances claims, and statutory accounts preparation alongside team members
• Preparation of annual budgets and strategic plans for assigned teams and assistance in compilation of aggregated budget and production of the budget pack

• Other ad hoc accounting tasks and routines as required to include assistance with provision of data to other statutory bodies
• Business partnering with various financial and non financial stakeholders

What you'll need to succeed

You will be an experienced Finance Candidate who is looking to learn and develop in a fast paced environment. You will be driven, enthusiastic, inquisitive and possess excellent communication and coordination skills. You will be able to corroborate information from a variety of sources and driven to understand the underlying key drivers of the business
